The Washington Alliance for School Health Care is an advocacy organization committed to advancing health care access in schools and helping ensure the health and academic success of children and youth statewide. Washington’s children and youth are suffering the devastating physical, mental and social impacts of a health care crisis. Thousands in every community lack access to quality, affordable and preventive health care. The Washington Alliance for School Health Care provides strong leadership in the school-based health care movement through its efforts to build and sustain local, statewide and national support.


Historic Funding Announcement for School-Based Health Centers

On July 14, 2011 the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded $95 million in competitive federal grants to 278 school-based health center (SBHC) programs across the country. Three organizations in Washington were awarded close to 1 million dollars combined to build new school-based health centers and update old and worn equipment. National School-Based Health Care Convention

Every year the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC) brings together more than 800 child and adolescent health providers and advocates for the National School-Based Health Care Convention.
